You don’t need discipline to hit your fitness goals.
Every year I share this framework before the new year.
If you weren’t disciplined this year, you won’t magically be disciplined next year.
Disciplined people are already doing the work.
They’re not waiting for January.
They’re not negotiating with themselves.
They’re already slaying dragons.
So if discipline isn’t the answer…
Here’s what you actually need:
- A smaller promise
Stop promising perfection
Start promising to show up
Three workouts a week beats an all in plan you quit by February - A system that removes decisions
Same training times
Same days
Same routine
When there’s nothing to decide, consistency becomes automatic - Identity before intensity
Change your language.
Instead of saying “i’m trying to get in shape”,
Say this instead
“I’m someone who trains”
You don’t need motivation to be who you already believe you are - Environment that pulls you forward
People expecting you
A coach who knows your name
A space where showing up feels normal
Willpower is weak
Environment wins every time - Grace for missed days
Consistency isn’t never missing
It’s never quitting
One missed workout doesn’t erase momentum
Quitting does
Discipline is a byproduct.
Consistency is built.
Systems create consistency.
And consistency changes everything…
See you in 2026.
