This Strong Mom’s Post-Partum Recovery Journey

For Priscilla, fitness is no longer about hitting personal records or chasing aesthetics…it’s about something deeper. It’s about showing up, moving with intention, and caring for her whole self—body, mind, and spirit.

A long time member of the Reason Fitness community, Priscilla shares her powerful journey of transformation through pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and the evolving demands of motherhood. Her story is one of resilience, grace, and the unmatched power of community support.

Evolving Goals Through Life’s Transition

When Priscilla first walked into Reason, she felt unsure. Like many newcomers, she wondered if she belonged or if she’d be able to keep up. But what kept her coming back wasn’t just the workouts—it was the people.

Over time, her goals shifted. Once focused on performance or hitting PRs, her perspective changed after pregnancy and the birth of her child. Now, her goal is simple but powerful: to keep moving.

“Sometimes just showing up is the win,” she reflects. And that consistency is what’s carried her through postpartum healing and beyond.

From Traumatic Birth to Tailored Recovery

Priscilla’s pregnancy journey wasn’t easy. She faced a traumatic birth experience that left her with physical limitations and emotional challenges. But the coaches at Reason met her where she was—modifying movements, encouraging rest, and supporting her healing.

“There was no pressure to bounce back,” she says. “It was about listening to my body, honoring the process, and celebrating small wins.” Through patience and self-compassion, she began rebuilding her strength—on her own timeline.

Support Systems Make All the Difference

With a young child and a busy life, consistency isn’t easy. Priscilla credits her husband, parents, and the Reason community for helping her stay on track. Whether it’s childcare support or encouragement from familiar faces at the gym, she’s never had to go it alone.

Her advice to fellow parents? “Get support where you can. If childcare isn’t available, bring your child along and let them see what health looks like in action.”

Fitness as Self-Care and Spiritual Practice

For Priscilla, fitness isn’t just physical. It’s emotional release. It’s mental clarity. And it’s deeply spiritual.

“Movement is a way I connect with myself and with God,” she shares. “It helps me reset, breathe, and remember who I am beyond the chaos.”

Her story is a powerful reminder that fitness can be a sacred space for healing, growth, and rediscovery—especially in seasons of change.

No Comparison. Just Progress.

Priscilla’s journey encourages everyone, especially moms – to stop comparing and start honoring their own path.

“Your journey doesn’t need to look like anyone else’s. Focus on your own rhythm, your own recovery, and your own growth.”
